Convocation Celebration

June 23, 2008

June 13 was a great day of celebration for the Faculty of Education. Our B.Ed., M.A. and Ph.D. graduates attended their convocation in record numbers at Western’s Alumni Hall. The speaker of the day, Glenda Simms, delivered a moving and inspirational talk, encouraging graduates to take their place in the world and make a difference. Many of our faculty and staff volunteered to be orators, hooders and ushers, showing to all the pride we take in our accomplished graduates.

At 1 p.m., here in our gymnasium, 225 people gathered to celebrate the student award recipients, hosted by Associate Deans, Bob MacMillan and Margaret McNay. Our award winners, friends, family, donors, faculty and staff, enjoyed lunch and the festivities. The room echoed with many well-earned rounds of applause for our B.Ed and Graduate Program degree recipients.
