Master of Arts Virtual Session - Counselling Psychology & School and Applied Child Psychology
Information Session – MA in School and Applied Child Psychology & MA in Counselling Psychology at Western University
Thank you for your interest in the graduate programs in Psychology at Western University’s Faculty of Education. We are proud to offer two onsite, full-time programs that prepare students for professional practice and research in the field of psychology.
The MA in Education Studies in the Field of School and Applied Child Psychology is committed to developing professional psychologists who promote the educational and psychological well-being of children, youth, and their families. This combined program prepares students with theoretical, research, and professional training to support psychological practice in schools, mental health, private practice, and research settings. The program meets the academic requirements of the College of Psychologists of Ontario for registration as a Psychologist (PhD) and is accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association. Please note: enrolling in the MA program indicates an intention to apply to the PhD program. Completion of the MA alone does not provide eligibility for registration as an MA-level Psychological Associate.
The MA in Counselling Psychology is a scientist-practitioner onsite full-time degree designed to prepare you to work as a professional counsellor in community agencies and public institutions serving diverse populations. With a strong research foundation, students complete a thesis and gain exposure to a variety of theoretical orientations, including feminist-informed, cognitive-behavioral, and existential practices. The program also includes an eight-month internship in settings such as child and family services, schools, colleges and universities, mental health, and justice, ensuring practical experience in specialized areas of counselling.
We are excited to host information sessions during the 2025–2026 application cycle for the 2026 intake, where you can learn more about each program’s structure, admission requirements, and application process. Each session will include a Q&A period, and for more detailed questions, please feel free to reach out to us at edrecruit@uwo.ca.
📅 Session Date & Time: Wednesday, November 05, 2025 – 12:00 p.m. (London, Ontario)
