A new voice in the Faculty of Education's newsroom

Andrew Graham, Communications & Community Engagement Officer for the Faculty of Education.

Hi there! My name is Andrew Graham and I’m the Faculty of Education’s Communications & Community Engagement Officer. This is a new role, and I will be working with Rosie Triebner, our Director of Community Engagement and Development, to connect with our alumni, our community, and our key stakeholders to support the Faculty's strategic plan and campaign goals.

Having just joined Western Education in April, I’m likely a new face for alumni, so I want to introduce myself and share how honoured I am to be a new voice in the Faculty’s newsroom.

For more than five years, I covered local news in London, Ont., and its surrounding area, which gave me a unique perspective on the community and the people living within it. I spent the bulk of my career with Global News, where I produced stories for radio listeners tuned into 980 CFPL and wrote articles for audiences online.

I am so grateful for my time in journalism and am now seeking a new challenge where I can bring my storytelling talents to Western Education.

At the Faculty of Education, I have the privilege of unearthing all the hidden gems dug deep within the work, research, and service of my colleagues. There are even more stories to be told from connecting with those who have completed their time at the Faculty and continue to let their talents flourish elsewhere to the benefit of those around them. The impact of the Faculty and its alumni stretches far and wide, and there is no reason that it should be kept a secret, especially at a time like this.

Last year marked the beginning of our 2022-2028 Strategic Plan and we are fast approaching our 50th anniversary in 2024, both of which are tremendous milestones that deserve special recognition.

Now it’s a matter of telling our story and letting the world know how we’re transforming education and transforming lives.

I hope that you lend us your support and help us in sharing your story. Whether it’s a proud moment in teaching or research, a cause for celebration thanks to a recent achievement, or a fond reflection on your time here at the Faculty, please be in touch.

You can reach me via email at agraha85@uwo.ca or over the phone at 519-661-2111 ext. 87315.

I am so excited to hear from you.
