The Chinese Society for Education (CSE) (中华教育学会) was founded in the tumultuous times of global rupture, instability and uncertainty by a committed group of academics, practitioners and partners in the shared field of Chinese Studies on Education, supported by over a hundred founding members mainly from East Asia, North America, Oceania and West Europe, and ten global partners as its founding organizations, such as Columbia University in the U.S.A., Peking University, Beijing Normal University, The Education University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University in China, University College London in the U.K., and the University of Western Ontario in Canada. The CSE aims at building a global community focusing uniquely on and promoting Chinese and related studies, practices and/or partnerships of education in the greater China region and beyond.

The CSE envisions a borderless, transdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and partners in the field of education with cultural origin from China and those who are passionate about Chinese Studies on Education. With this vision, the CSE promotes the understanding and exchange of education between China and the rest of the world via sholarship, practice and partnership.

We are proud that the CSE is the first of its kind fostering and upholding the global trinity of scholarship, practice, and partnership relevant to Chinese Studies on Education beyond geo-political boundaries. The CSE warmly welcomes leaders and administrators, researchers, educators, partners, as well as other practitioners in the field of Chinese Studies on Education, including post-doctoral scholars and graduate students, who share the same vision and interest with us.

The CSE is registered officially as a non-for-profit organization and housed at the Faculty of Education of the University of Western Ontario, Canada.

To join us, please sign up your CSE membership 2026 timely, and submit your proposal before Mar. 1, 2026 to the 3rd CSE Annual Conference, Aug. 10-12, 2026, the University of Windsor.
