Cough, cough, cough

Grade 4 students considered what our world might be like if we continued polluting at our current rate. And whose problem is it?

They brainstormed, shared, discussed, and recorded using words and pictures. Their ideas make up the song they sing below.

Our world is smoky and polluted
Global warming is not cool
The air is thick and gray, Polar bears are dying
Trees are disappearing, garbage dumps are smelly
Do you know of wars for scarce resources?
Sometimes people and kids die

Cough, cough, cough
Whose problem is it?
Cough, cough, cough
Whose problem is it?
It’s our problem

What can we do about it?
We can plant more trees
Plant flowers too and drive smaller cars
Take a bus or ride a bike
Walk, walk, walk, walk to school
Clean our lakes and clean our flowing rivers
Share our resources
Don’t pollute reduce, reuse and recycle

Cough, cough, cough
Whose problem is it?
Cough, cough, cough
Whose problem is it?
It’s our problem
