Festival and Contest Information

Contest adjudication

We are excited to announce that the adjudication committee includes:

Contest prizes

Prizes include gift certificates, medals and more.

Contest deadlines

  • Performances must be submitted by the end of June.
  • Results will be announced in the fall.

Contest criteria

Performances (at most 3 minutes in length) will be judged using the following criteria:

  1. richness of mathematical ideas
  2. creativity and imagination
  3. quality of performance

Notes:

  • A performance should be at most 3 minutes in length.
  • A performance should be original work.
  • You allowed to have musical accompaniment from a fellow student or teacher.
  • Fell free to use the music files posted at Add Music to your Poems).
  • You are also allowed to use music that has been licensed by your school or school district for your use in multimedia.

 

 

 


 

 

 

The Math Performance Festival is funded by the Imperial Oil Foundation, the Fields Institute, Research Western, the Faculty of Education at UWO, and the Canadian Mathematical Society. A project by George Gadanidis (UWO), Marcelo Borba (UNESP, Brazil), Susan Gerofsky (UBC), and Rick Jardine (UWO).
