MATH & SCIENCE CAMP

Song 3 - Should it stay or should it go?

Grades 2-3 children explored: What if there were too many shapes in the world and one of the had to go? What if we narrowed down to the circle or the triangle? And, what if it was up to you to choose? See a video of the teacher describing the lesson.

Should it stay or should it go?

Geometry is too crowded
It’s in the News
One shape must go
It’s up to you to choose

Can you imagine
A world with nothing round
With no circles
Anywhere to be found?

Or nothing acute
Obtuse or scalene
With all triangles
Out of the scene?

It’s……………………… my world
I must think
 loooooooooong-range
I…………… need to own
This math change
I must think
It’s my world

I don’t want
Any of this to happen
I don’t want geometry
To be misshapen

But if I had to choose
If a shape I had to lose
Would I let circle go?
I don’t really know

Or maybe triangle
With its pointy corners
Could it maybe go?
Who will  mourn?

It’s……………………… my world
I must think
 loooooooooong-range
I……. need to own
This math change
I must think
It’s my world
