Teachers' Perceptions of Creativity

Currently we know little about how teachers perceive their role with regards to fostering creativity in the classroom amid the other demands and expectations involved in the teaching profession.

The research invited teachers to talk about the role creativity played in their classroom. How did they vision creativity as an element of classroom instruction? What components of the school environment did they indicate supported creative thinking, and what aspects were unsupportive? Ultimately, the results of this study paint a picture of what role creativity plays in the 21st century classroom.
