B.Ed. Program
Service Learning
Community Learning, Service Learning, Alternative Practicum
April 18 – 28, 2011
Western's Student Success Centre helped the Faculty of Education place 132 Teacher Candidates in local or international service learning sites. No other Faculty offered service learning experiences to so many students. This part of our program helps to fulfill Western's Strategic Plan, particularly its goal to "emphasize the importance of broad experience outside the classroom for all our students, recognizing that these activities build the leadership capacity which characterizes Western graduates."
Thanks to Matt Bazely, Director of Practicum, and Stephanie Haynes and Anne-Marie Fischer of UWO's Student Success Centre for their work on this program.
