For many years I have been motivated to better understanding, beyond singular disciplinary or cultural enclosures, the limits and possibilities for human learning and agency. This orientation to educational research warrants examination of the politico-economic, socio-historical, (inter)cultural, psychological, aesthetic and psychical dimensions of human learning and not learning. My particular areas of focus include: globalization and education, international education, theories of knowledge, politics of schooling, progressive pedagogies, critical literacies, media education, teacher education, reflective practice and teachers’ work and learning.
