Bachelor of Education/Diploma in Education
The Bachelor of Education/Diploma in Education program is designed to provide the knowledge, skills, experience, resources and support needed to prepare students to become professional teachers from the day they graduate.
There are four program options to consider:
Primary-Junior (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6) & PJ FSL
Junior-Intermediate (Grades 4-10)
Western's Bachelor of Education/Diploma in Education is a full-time, in-class program that runs from September until mid-May. The program features core courses in social foundation of education, educational psychology and special education, and curriculum and pedagogy.
As well, the program includes elective choices, professional development and career search support, and a practicum consisting of two blocks
of student teaching, professional development days, and a two-week "Transition to Professional Practice"
at the end of the academic year.
