This course requires qualified teachers to study, in depth, the education of pupils with physical, intellectual, communications and behaviourial abnormalities.

1. General Certificate of Qualification and Registration indicating successful completion of Part 1 of the specialist qualification; (It is not necessary to submit a hard copy as proof can be obtained from the Public Register of the Ontario College of Teachers.)

2. Evidence of at least one year (194 days) of successful classroom teaching experience, as certified by an appropriate supervisory officer (superintendent, not principal). Teaching experience MUST BE COMPLETED prior to the first day of the course.
