Larry Langan
Larry Langan is one of 2 instructors chosen by their students to receive the AQ Award of Teaching Excellence for Summer 2011. Larry is long time instructor in Western's AQ program and also serves as the Coordinator of Service Learning (Catholic Studies for Teachers) at King's University College. Larry teaches the Special Education course and brings a wealth of professional knowledge and experience to our program. Students nominating Larry described him as "a fantastic educator" who was "professional, warm and supportive." Larry's students consistently commented on his ability to make online learning "a great experience".

Continuing Teacher Education

The Continuing Teacher Education program at Western offers over 100 AQ courses providing opportunities for teachers to expand and enhance their skills and professional development in core subjects such as Special Education, ESL, Reading and French as a Second-language, as well as Technological Education and Kindergarten, Part 1; a full range of Intermediate and Senior courses for teachers who wish to upgrade their teaching areas and Honour Specialist courses for those seeking leadership roles in their schools or boards. 

Western AQ courses:

  • meet the requirements of the Ontario College of Teachers
  • are recorded on the Certificate of Qualification and Registration and on a Western transcript
  • are accepted by OSSTF/QECO for salary upgrades
  • are taught by outstanding instructors in a research-based university environment
  • are designed with practice-based and research informed content
