How much experience is enough experience?
Candidates are asked to identify three experiences and to explain in 250 words how these experiences are important to them as future teachers. Volunteering, paid work experience, coaching, tutoring, and many other enriching activities may be identified. We do not prescribe how much experience an applicant must have before applying. Each person will approach this question from his or her own stance, and we are happy to see how any paid or volunteer work experience you have had sets you on this course. There are no time limits on when this experience should have taken place although we will look for a sustained commitment to becoming a teacher. We recommend that at least one experience is recent (within the last two years). You will also need to note the names and telephone numbers of three referees on your Experience Profile, and you should ask their permission to use their names. One referee must be reachable within North America.
Additional pages or other documentation (such as letters of reference) will not be considered. Documents supporting your application are not carried forward from year to year. New Experience Profiles and transcripts must be submitted each year.
