Applications after the December 1, 2009 deadline will not be considered.  Amendments to program, teaching subject selections and general background areas cannot be made after December 1, 2009.

How to Apply for Primary Junior, Junior Intermediate and Intermediate Senior

The deadline for applying and submitting required documentation is December 1, 2009.  

  1. When applying, candidates must choose one of the following program streams only:*

  • Primary Junior (JK to Grade 6) & PJ FSL

  • Junior Intermediate (Grades 4-10)

  • Intermediate Senior (Grades 7-12)

To be considered for admission, all candidates must meet the attached requirements

 

*Applications with more than one program selected will be processed for the first choice only.

  1. You must complete two components online in the application process: (1) the Teacher Education Application Service (TEAS) and (2) an Experience Profile form through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC):  http://www.ouac.on.ca/teas/ .  The TEAS application form is a common application for all teacher education programs in Ontario.  All fees must be submitted directly to OUAC by the application deadline.

    • Music students must complete an additional supplementary information form which can be downloaded and printed through the above OUAC link.  Submit form to

  • For an additional fee, OUAC will mail you an application package. To receive a paper application, contact OUAC at 519-823-1940.

  • In addition to OUAC's basic application fee, there is a non-refundable $60 supplementary fee.

  • Applicants who do not send the appropriate fees to OUAC will not have their applications processed.
  1. Submit transcripts directly to the Registrar's Office by December 17th.  If you attended a university in Ontario, your transcript must be ordered through the TEAS Transcript Request Form (TRF).  When ordering, please select  the "immediately" option in the form.  Graduates from The University of Western Ontario who apply to UWO need not order or send UWO transcripts; however, UWO graduates must order transcripts for institutions attended prior to or after UWO.   For more transcript options, please click here

Additional pages or other documentation (such as letters of reference) will not be considered. Documents supporting your application are not carried forward from year to year. New Experience Profiles and transcripts must be submitted each year.

  1. English language proficiency tests, if applicable, to the Office of the Registrar, The University of Western Ontario. For English proficiency requirements, click here.  Deadline: February 28.

  1. Copy of Record of Landing, if not a Canadian citizen, to the Office of the Registrar, The University of Western Ontario.

  1. Related Subjects - If you have courses on your undergraduate or graduate degree transcripts not obviously related to required teaching subjects or elementary school general academic areas, you must submit course descriptions by the application deadline in order for the courses to be considered. Course descriptions must be copied directly from the granting institution's academic calendar. The University of Western Ontario reserves the right to accept or deny the appropriateness of any course submitted for consideration. We do not notify applicants during the evaluation process of outstanding transcripts or other pertinent documents. It is the responsibility of the student to follow up to ensure that transcripts have been received.

In order to allow for sufficient processing time, please wait until January to check whether or not your documents have been received. No other information about the status of your file will be available until offers are made in April.


How to Apply for Technological Education

The deadline for applying and submitting required documentation is December 1, 2009.  

  1. When applying, choose Technological Education
  1.
