Discussion
What does a 'Discussion' look like?
'Discussion' is one of the most important features of taking
an online course. It is your virtual classroom. Like a typical
classroom, it is where you discuss the details of assignment expectations,
ask questions about the material and interact with your classmates
and your instructor.
An online discussion performs these functions and more. Unlike
a traditional classroom, your participation is not limited by a three-hour class.
Everyone has input in the exchange of ideas, and you
have access 24 hours a day. You benefit from the questions, answers
and experience of everyone in your class. Below is a brief outline
of how the 'Discussion' works.
After logging in and entering your online course you have access
to 'Discussion'. This is what it looks like.

Navigation Bar
The navigation bar contains links to the Overview
page of your course and the different options available
to you in the Discussion.
- 'Tools' allows you to find out who has participated
in the Discussion during a specified period of
time.
- 'Notebook' provides a place for you to take note
of important information or record your thoughts about what
you learn in the Discussion. The notes can be saved and
edited for future reference.
- 'Chat' provides a platform where you can talk
with your classmates in realtime.
- 'Search' through the Discussion records
for previous posts you would like to revisit.
- 'Help' links you to AQ Technical Support.
