Continuing Teacher Education

Educational Rounds

All courses include a 24-hour online Educational Rounds Component. The AQ student’s Educational Rounds Project must focus on the subject area of certification.  This process has been implemented as a means to create a space for teachers to come together as professionals and talk about the challenging cases or issues that emerge from their current (or anticipated) teaching context and engage in professional dialogue with others in the field in ways that inform and extend the understanding of all involved. A great deal of continuing teacher education and professional development is driven by Ministry initiatives, and subject content, and therefore, participating in Educational Rounds is a way for teachers to tailor their learning to address these issues.  Specific guidelines and tasks are included in each course.
