Course Description

Theories of child development and their application in the planning of individual and group learning experiences. Emphasis on developing skills and planning experiences necessary to assist junior grade children in the curricular areas of communications, environmental studies and the arts.

Admission Requirements

A Certificate of Qualification, Interim Certificate of Qualification or Letter of Eligibility indicating the Junior Division.(A hard copy is required for the Letter of Eligibility only. Verification of the other documents will be done online via the Public register of the Ontario College of Teachers.)

B.Ed. students graduating in 2009 from an Ontario Faculty of Education may take courses prior to membership with OCT providing that they have met all the requirements to graduate and have registered with OCT. Students from Faculties other than Western must provide proof of successful completion of their B.Ed. program. Students from Faculties outside of Ontario MUST be a member of the Ontario College of Teachers prior to the course start date.
