Mathematics Primary and Junior Specialist  EDUC 5747
Course Description

Specialist level study of practical strategies for the teaching of mathematics in the Primary and Junior grades. This course will include assessment and implementation of change in elementary mathematics programs; program planning for children with special needs; gender, cultural and racial issues in the learning of mathematics and leadership skills.

Admission Requirements

1. A Certificate of Qualification indicating successful completion of Part 2; (It is not necessary to submit a hard copy as proof can be obtained from the Public Register of the Ontario College of Teachers.)

2. Evidence of at least two years (388 days) of successful teaching experience, of which at least one year (194 days or 110 teaching hours) is in Ontario in the subject area, as certified by an appropriate supervisory officer (superintendent, not principal). Teaching experience MUST BE COMPLETED prior to the first day of the course.
