This course is designed to provide teachers with an increased knowledge of child growth and development; further development of curriculum content and material for kindergarten and primary teachers; and an opportunity to refine and extend appropriate teaching strategies so that children develop skills in all curriculum areas.

A Certificate of Qualification, Interim Certificate of Qualification or Letter of Eligibility indicating the Primary Division.(A hard copy is required for the Letter of Eligibility only. Verification of the other documents will be done online via the Public register of the Ontario College of Teachers.)

B.Ed. students graduating in 2009 from an Ontario Faculty of Education may take courses prior to membership with OCT providing that they have met all the requirements to graduate and have registered with OCT. Students from Faculties other than Western must provide proof of successful completion of their B.Ed. program. Students from Faculties outside of Ontario MUST be a member of the Ontario College of Teachers prior to the course start date.
