Librarianship Part 1  EDUC 5769
Course Description

This introductory course will emphasize the following areas of competence: knowledge of curriculum documents, organization of learning materials and general library management, resource-based learning, selection and acquisition of children's and adolescent literature, and information technology appropriate for a school library.

Admission Requirements

A Certificate of Qualification, Interim Certificate of Qualification or Letter of Eligibility. (Candidates holding only Technological Studies and not General Studies qualifications are NOT eligible for admission.) (A hard copy is required for the Letter of Eligibility only. Verification of the other documents will be done online via the Public register of the Ontario College of Teachers.)

B.Ed. students graduating in 2009 from an Ontario Faculty of Education may take courses prior to membership with OCT providing that they have met all the requirements to graduate and have registered with OCT. Students from Faculties other than Western must provide proof of successful completion of their B.Ed. program. Students from Faculties outside of Ontario MUST be a member of the Ontario College of Teachers prior to the course start date.
