The idea of participating in
Educational Rounds has grown from a desire to provide a space for teachers to come
together around difficult cases or issues from their individual practice, and engage
in professional dialogue with others in the field in ways that inform and extend
the understanding of all involved. A great
deal of continuing teacher education and professional development is driven by
Ministry initiatives, and subject content. Participating in Educational Rounds
is a way for teachers to tailor their learning to address issues of concern
and interest relating to their current context, while
supporting and fostering professional dialogue among colleagues
and the course faculty.
