The Development of The Althouse Press
The Althouse Press, established in 1977, is administered by the Faculty of Education and owned by The University of Western Ontario. It publishes and distributes books to the university community, other publishers, and scholars.
The Press publishes:
- scholarly books and research monographs in education;
- professional books and materials for educators in elementary schools, secondary schools, and faculties of education; and,
- audio-visual and other materials in related fields.
The Althouse Press does not normally publish materials directly intended for elementary or secondary school students.
The Althouse Press is governed by a Publications Committee consisting of six elected members of the Faculty of Education, The University of Western Ontario. The committee serves as the editorial policy board of The Althouse Press and is responsible for adjudicating all submitted manuscripts.
