Presentation Formats

Please note that for all formats, it is the exhibitor’s responsibility to bring, watch over, and remove their own equipment, posters, props, etc. If you are unable to attend please make arrangements for a colleague to assume these responsibilities.

1. ABSTRACT POSTER (quick and easy!): An 18" X 24" poster of an abstract from a recently published work (2007-2008).

Graduate students who do not have published works may submit an abstract of ongoing thesis or DRP research.

You will need to use a template available here. We will print your poster and return it to you a week before the exhibit. We will cover the cost of up to three posters per individual. Posters are to be emailed to edu-researchday@uwo.ca by Thursday, March 20, 2008.

2. FULL POSTER: A large format poster of published or ongoing works.

You may submit a poster that has been, or will be, presented at a scholarly or professional conference (2007-2008). Information about creating a full poster using PowerPoint is available here (pdf file of instructions courtesy of Dr. Mark McDayter, Faculty of Arts and Humanities). Information about printing services and costs for large posters is available here. Exhibitors are responsible for the cost and printing of posters.

3. BOOKS

A table will be available to display books published during the past five years (2003-2008). Books are to be given to Stephanie McLeod by Friday, March 28, 2008.

4. CREATIVE ACTIVITY – NEW THIS YEAR

We are welcoming works of creative expression in whatever media are appropriate to your area of academic expertise. For example, recordings of music, works of visual or performance art, poetry readings, excerpts from novels, technical achievements, etc. Please contact us to discuss your ideas.

5. SLIDE SHOW – MASSED FORMAT

This may be of interest to you if you have PowerPoint slide shows which have been or will be presented at conferences (2007-2008) or at this year’s seminar series. We will be running a continuous slide show loop on a large projection unit. The loop will consist of a successive string of slide shows. Participants are asked to email their slide shows to edu-researchday@uwo.ca. Files are to be emailed by Thursday, March 20, 2008.

6. SLIDE SHOW – INDIVIDUAL FORMAT

Exhibitors have the option of bringing their own computers and/or projection units to display PowerPoint slide shows, or other electronic media. However, it is the exhibitor’s responsibility to bring, watch over, and remove their own equipment. Tables will be provided.

7. OTHER FORMAT

Please contact us to discuss your ideas.
