Researcher Spotlight
Julie Byrd Clark
My on-going program of research has to do with issues of equity in the teaching and learning of languages and is informed by an interdisciplinary approach. I am engaged in looking at the development of linguistic repertoires as an essential component of language education, language teaching, and citizenship in a globalized world. My research interests include: bi/multilingualism, sociolinguistics, applied linguistics, second language learning and teaching, social processes, social identity construction, discourse analysis, linguistic minorities, multi-modality, French language pedgagogy, Franco-Ontarian studies, Canadian studies, globalization, and reflexive, multi-sited ethnography.
