Instructional and Open Computer Labs

You must have a valid Faculty of Education computing account in order to use any of the resources in the faculty's various labs.

Hours are Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm

Evening hours will be extended to 9:30 as staff are hired.

Weekend hours will be noon – 5:00 as staff are hired.

Instructional Lab, Rooms 1156 (27 computers)

  • Networked P4 2.8 Ghz, running Windows XP Pro with 17" monitors
  • Access to word processing, presentation and a variety of Ontario Educational Software - OESS
  • Internet and email access for Education Students
  • Networked laser printer in lab*
  • Computers in the labs may be used by students when not scheduled for instruction.
  • Lab may be reserved for class presentations**
  • Flatbed scanner with image editing software

Student Work Room - Room 1158 (47 thinserv clients)

  • Networked client systems running Windows XP Pro with 17" monitors
  • Access to word processing, presentation and a variety of Ontario Educational Software - OESS
  • Internet and email access for Education Students
  • Networked laser printer in lab*
  • Flatbed scanner with image editing software

 Secondary Lab and Workroom - Room 2011 (16 computers)

  • Networked P4 2.8 Ghz, running Windows XP Pro with 17" monitors
  • Access to word processing, presentation and a variety of Ontario Educational Software - OESS
  • Internet and email access for Education Students
  • Networked laser printer in lab*
  • Flatbed scanner with image editing software

Secondary Lab and Workroom - Room 1130 (25 computers)

  • Networked Pentium IV 3.0 Ghz and 2.13 dual core, running Windows XP Pro with 17" monitors
  • Access to word processing, presentation and a variety of Ontario Educational Software - OESS
  • Internet and email software
  • Networked laser printer in lab*
  • Flatbed scanner with image editing software

 Graduate Work Area- Room 1142M (8 computers)

  • Networked Pentium IV 2.66 dual core, running Windows XP Pro with with 17" monitors
  • Access to word processing, Internet access with SPSS
  • Networked photocopier printer

* In order to print on the laser printers in labs you must purchase credits to your printing account in the Media Production Centre.
